The team at Safari Health Care provides support for people who are living with mental illness. This involves day-to-day support to help their individual goals, assisting them to navigate other health services and monitoring their progress.
Types of Mental Illness
Mental illnesses are of different types and degrees of severity. Some of the major types are depression, anxiety, bipolar mood disorder, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress order, suicide, and self-harm.
Changes in Behaviour
- Finding difficult to concentrate on tasks.
- Feeling tired and fatigued
- Being unusually tearful or emotional
- Getting angry easily or frustrated with tasks or people
- Feeling vulnerable due to stress and Anxiety
- Drinking alcohol to cope with other symptoms of anxiety and/ depression
- Having a loss of confidence and negative thought patterns.
Most mental illnesses can be effectively treated. Recognising the early signs and symptoms of mental illness and accessing effective treatment early is important. The earlier treatment starts, the better the outcome.
How do we help?
- There is no ‘one size fits all’ way to support participants with a mental illness. We provide support based on your need and medical condition.
- Our support staff will follow the Care Plans and assist you accordingly.
- Our support staff will record patients’ physical condition by taking vital signs and observing behaviour.
- With the help of other medical staff, we organize social or recreational activities and encourage patient participation.
- We can also help you in light cleaning, cooking as well as assisting with bathing, showering, grooming and other personal hygiene tasks.
- We can help you by reminding and/or prompting to take the medication at the correct times.
- we can help in building skills like exercise, shopping, household activities, personal hygiene, hobbies, and sports..
- We can help you in meeting your families, friends and attending appointments.
